Missing Woman Found Safe in Revere

January 16, 2018 by Captain Keith Houghton

Chelsea Police have located Elizabeth Hernandez of Chelsea this evening at a hotel in Revere.  Chelsea and Revere Police responded to the Comfort Inn at 85 American Legion Highway at 6:30 PM this evening after receiving a tip from a hotel employee. The employee recognized the missing woman from a news broadcast. Ms. Hernandez was located alone in a hotel room and is being transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to receive an medical evaluation.  Chelsea Police investigated the incident as a missing person case and not a  criminal matter based on evidence gathered during the day.

Chelsea Police remind the community they can report crimes or suspicious activity anonymously in various formats. Citizens can call the 24 hr “tips” line at 617-466-4880, email reports directly from the department’s website at www.chelseapolice.com or download for free the MYPD App that is compatible with both Android and Apple smartphones. All three ways are monitored and anonymous.

Welcome to Chelsea!

Chelsea Police Chief Brian KyesWelcome to the brand new website of the Chelsea Police Department! This mobile-friendly portal will serve as a digital gateway between the men and women of the department and the community members we serve.

Today, more and more local urban police departments must look for community-based problem solving initiatives aimed at deriving solutions to address the challenges of modern policing and the complexities of diverse communities such as the City of Chelsea. These local departments are united in the collective belief that our role goes well beyond simply enforcing the laws. Key issues like public education, community development and crisis intervention are extremely important to the quality of life in the community. In partnership with the residents, business and political leaders, community and faith based organizations within the City of Chelsea, we shall continue to be committed to the implementation of the ideals and philosophy of Community Policing.
