Chelsea, State and Lynnfield Police are actively searching for a male suspect wanted for Raping and Kidnapping a female victim in Chelsea on April 23rd and then shooting the same victim and one other in Lynnfield on April 30th. Warrants have been issued for Bayron Fajardo-Montoya, age 27 of Chelsea for a multitude of charges. Police have been searching for Montoya who drove away in the victim’s car after the April 30th shooting. The vehicle, a blue 2001 Nissan Sentra bearing MA registration 548BJ7 is reported stolen and has not been recovered.
Montoya was observed in Chelsea early this morning but was able to evade capture after police received a tip that he was near his home on Broadway. Montoya is described as a Hispanic male, 5’7” in height and approximately 170 lbs. He was observed this morning wearing a blue polo style shirt with a white stripe and khaki pants. Police consider Montoya armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If observed, the public is asked to call the police immediately.
