(CHELSEA, MA) December 14, 2014- Chelsea Police detectives and State Police assigned to the Suffolk DA’s office are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Chester Avenue early this morning.
Chelsea Police responded to a residence on Chester Avenue near Shawmut Street just after 3:00 this morning for a report of a person shot. On arrival, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital.
One man, age 29, was pronounced dead of his injuries. The second, age 34, was admitted for treatment. The Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit, which has jurisdiction over death investigations in Chelsea, responded to the scene, assisted by State Police Crime Scene Services Section and other specialized units. The investigation remains very active this morning.
