Message from the Chief

I speak for the entire Chelsea Police Department in condemning the horrific attack on Tyre Nichols. We send our deepest condolences to the Nichols family and friends who must endure the pain of processing such a senseless loss of their loved one.

These unimaginable criminal acts by these officers and witnessed by the entire nation show that immediate accountability and transparency are paramount for police in building and maintaining trust within a community.

The Chelsea Police Department is committed to this standard. We will continue an open dialogue with all our partners to establish a community-based standard of providing public service to all who reside in and visit Chelsea.
